9 Upcycling Ideas for Children's Furniture and Toy Storage

This week we have 9 Phantastic ideas for repurposed, upcyled & DIY kids furniture. The repurposing doesn't have to stop with normal furniture you can make great things for the little ones too. Remember to always use a non toxic paint(Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® is perfect) and make sure that your creation is kid friendly and safe. Also never assume that an already finished surface is non toxic, better safe than sorry especially when children are involved.

1.) Make an amazing little play kitchen from an old tube television media center.

2.) Mount old milk crates to the wall for convenient toy storage.

3.) An old coffee table with some benches or chairs painted to match makes an amazing little play table. Even more fun if you paint the top in Chalk Board paint.

4.) Turn a boring old side table or cabinet in to a perfect little Lego station.

5.) Store all those toys in wall mounted or ceiling hung planter baskets.

6.) Attach some castors or wheels to vintage crates for movable trundle storage boxes.

7.) A vintage or antique wagon is an adorable way to display all those books for the little ones.

8.) Bottle crates mounted to the wall can store the toys and look great doing it.

9.) Old leftover drawers also make great trundle style storage. All you need is some paint and wheels!

This one doesn't have the wheels, but it does have an awesome paint job.

-Thanks for reading everyone. We'll see you the next week.

  1. Some of the ideas here are really amazing! I mean, who would have thought that it'd be so easy to convert some junk storage units into such a vibrant piece of child's play equipment! Definitely something more parents should try!
