1.) Wine Racks - There are several ways to turn your old, unused spool into a great wine rack or bar.

The easiest way is to just drill holes in the column and stick your wine bottles in.

Adding some stain goes a long way.

Add some decoration, empty wine bottles can make great vases.

Cut a hole in the top and insert an ice bucket to chill your whites.

The best of the lot has storage for 6 bottles, a small cabinet, space for glasses, and even wheels.

2.) Chairs, benches, and rockers - Cutting up your spool and adding some cushion can turn your spool into a great seat for you and your loved ones.

The simplest form of the spool chair.

Looks great in the garden and is even better with a good book.

This great bench has side tables attached.

This child's bed / reading nook is just too cute.

Just stick an umbrella in the center and you have a great patio table.

3.) Tables - There are a number of different ways to turn your spool into a table.

With some paint and posts your spool can become an amazing side table with lots of book storage.

Or  it can also be a unique coffee table.

Find some vintage decor to add to your new spool table.

You can even use just one side and some legs of your choosing.

Decopauging old newspaper can give an old spool an even older look.

Considering trying your hand at upholstery? Making your spool into a stool is a great place to start.

4.) Clocks - Use some old clock hands and mail box numbers to make your own clock.

This one has carved letters but the idea is the same. You cold also try branding the numbers into the spool for an even more rustic look.

5.) Have a large spool? Make it a headboard.
