Featured Item of the Week

This weeks featured item is an original engraving by William Walcot from 1927.

William Walcot was an architectural draftsman and graphic artist born in 1874 neat Odessa in a small town called Lustdorf, Russia. He attended the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg.

Walcot's career as an architectural draftsman in Moscow was very short lived but he left a significant impression on the city that still remains to this day. Unlike most contemporary Russian architects his style was almost exclusively Art Nouveau. His most famous work is the Hotel Metropol in Moscow. His design was selected for construction but during construction he collaborated with Lev KekushevVladimir ShukhovMikhail VrubelAlexander Golovin, and Nikolai Andreev.
