Antibes Green Chalk Paint® How To Demo Cabinet

Here is a little Demo Cabinet that most of you have seen in the store next to our Chalk Paint® display. This is a little blog about how it come to be...

I just finished this little demo piece in Antibes Green with Clear & Dark Soft Wax.

I picked this little 1970's cabinet up at a barn sale. Sweetness. Its rough and outdated finish was just what I was looking for.

I taped the piece right down the middle using Frog Tape (love that stuff).

I decided to paint it Antibes Green because it is a beautiful, bold color and would show the contrast between finished and original very well. I also wanted to show the contrast of the clear and dark wax, and Antibes looks great with a little dark wax.

I didn't prime, sand, or prep AT ALL! Just started painting using my medium Annie Sloan brush (which I love-love-love).

I coated the painted half of the piece with Clear Soft Wax inside and out and then distressed the outside with 220 grit sandpaper and then used the Dark Soft Wax to accent the pieces curves.

The paint covered the grain and roughness very well. This little demo piece is on display in the store if you want to come check it out.

What would you paint with Antibes Green?
