DIY Ideas: Junk in the Trunk

Hello! It's Meghan again! Life is all about the DIY for me and when I saw this lonely little trunk below at it's last  price in the shop, I started wondering what could be done to bring new life back to it.

I love old trunks. There are so many stories and possibilities with stuff like this- leave in the clothing rack and drawers but recover them for an interesting storage for clothes (I've considered getting one for all my winter sweaters!) or try one of the other ideas I found below through a quick google search.

I found this interesting bar trunk DIY through Apartment Therapy. It would be a little bit of work, but so worth it to try out!

The Martha Stewart Website had this adorable filing cabinet DIY which would be great for office storage!

Design Sponge had a great tutorial turning this suit case into a little table. This would be great to use on a trunk like ours and then using it as a coffee table! Adorable AND great storage!

Even though the above image does not come with a tutorial and it is a suitcase rather than a trunk, I thought it was too adorable not to post. We get a lot of suitcase stands and suitcases in the shop, and wouldn't it be adorable to make one into this little travelling desk? It's the perfect size for a laptop or tablet stand and could easily be taken outside (so if you write, like I do, you would be able to travel with it).

Any of these projects would certainly spruce up your space and this time of the year, with all the spring cleaning going on, it could really be useful as well as pretty. See you again soon!
