Featured Item - Art Deco Molded Pottery Vase by Jacques Adnet For Lusca.

Featured Item: Jacques Adnet Designed Vase

A Molded Pottery Vase Designed by Jacques Adnet For Lusca

Jacques Adnet was a French architect and designer who created beautiful simple elegant designs devoid of ornamentation. He was born in 1900 near Bourgogne and received his education at the Municipal School of Design and Ecole des Arts Decoratifs. Post graduation Jacques established a design firm with his brother Jean.
Jacques Adnet

The two brothers formed J.J. Adnet in 1925. News of their designs was spreading and they were known as two of the top young designers in France at the time. Jacques and Jean were invited to show their work in 1925 at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes which is the famed expo where the "Art Deco" term originated from.

The 1925 expo gave Jacques and his brother international acclaim for their modern pieces made of wood, metal, glass and other simplistic designs that rejected popular motifs of the era.

"What a lot of work to achieve simplicity."
-Jacques Adnet
